Solar Energy Based LED Lighting Systems

We are giving particular emphasis on Solar Energy related projects where we are developing state of art Solid State LED lighting driven by Solar Energy. Some of our systems are already on the ground giving excellent results. A solar LED light is a device that uses energy from the sun to power a lamp containing light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs. These lights collect solar energy through a photovoltaic panel, then store this energy until it is needed to power the lights.Solar lights are available in a wide variety of styles and finishes, and can be used in applications ranging from small residential projects to streetlights.

Different Photovoltaic panels used collect energy from the sun and through a charge controller passes it to a storage device or a Battery bank which in turn provide it to the installed LED lighting system through a wire or cable. The stored energy can be used to power the light even when the sun isn't shining.

These LED Lighting developed by BZI are considered a type of green technology due to their reduced impact on the environment. While traditional lights are powered using electricity produced with fossil fuels, a solar LED light represents clean energy. No fossil fuels are burned, which means fewer greenhouse gas emissions. This also means that these lights are fairly economical to operate, as they rely on "off-the-grid" energy sources for power.

The development of LED technology has further added to the advantages offered by these lights. LED bulbs are much more efficient than traditional light sources, and use only a fraction of the energy, which means they can operate much longer on a smaller power supply. They stay cool to the touch, unlike fluorescent or incandescent bulbs, which lowers the risk of damage caused by fire or heat. These bulbs are also much smaller than standard light bulbs, and offer both increased portability and a greater amount of light in a smaller space. The Solar Home Lighting system is a fixed installation designed for domestic application. The system comprises of Solar PV Module (Solar Cells), charge controller, battery and lighting system Using ultra efficient LEDs that are over 20 times more efficient than Incandescent lamps and almost 5 times better than Fluorescent lamps, With such a small energy requirement, it is also possible to offer long operation/back-up times of up to 10 hours+* in-between charges, as well as short charge up times. Furthermore, because only high quality components are used in these products, they offer exceptional long term reliability.

Solar Power Systems
There are three primary types of solar electric power systems which can be integrated into your residence or business. One is called a "utility-tie" system, the other is called a "utility-interactive" system and then what we commonly call a "stand alone" system. Read below for more information about the differences between these types of solar electric systems.

Utility-tie (or Grid-tie)
This system does not have a battery or related battery equipment. It has one function only. It feeds all electric power generated by the solar panels through a synchronous utility-grade inverter and offsets the power you would normally consume from the utility company. It slows, stops or reverses your utility meter depending on the time of day, the loads present and the size of the solar system installed. This is an extremely popular system because there are no batteries to replace and the system costs less than its "utility-interactive" counterpart. It essentially wakes up in the morning and shuts down in the evening. For areas where there are few utility power failures or if you already have a back up generator this is an ideal system. They are simple in nature, comprised primarily of the solar panels and synchronous utility grade inverter.
Utility-interactive
This system has a battery and additional controls. It can both, (1) feed into the utility meter to slow or reverse it when excess power is present, and (2) it can provide back up power during utility failures. This is basically the same type of system used in homes that are completely off-grid. Depending on the size of this system and the appliances or devices requiring power it can support an entire home or just the items that are considered the most necessary during power failures. These systems are more expensive because of the battery reserve capacity and additional controls required in the system. Typically, depending on the amount of battery reserve these systems cost about 30% or more than a comparable utility-tie system, however in areas with frequent utility failures these fully automatic, silent power systems can be a great advantage.
Stand alone
A stand alone system is typically used when there is no public utility power available. A fueled generator is often used for supplemental short term support or to shave peak loads, but otherwise this system is fully independent of the power grid and thus there is no interaction whatsoever with the public grid. The size of the solar array, other system components and the battery reserve capacity is dictated by the electrical usage of the property, the amount of reserve for periods of little or no sun and the climatology of the area.
